ORA-14403 Is Being Raised After Upgrading From 10.2.0.4 To 11.2.0.3 (Doc ID 1509153.1)

SYMPTOMS

ORA-14403 reported after migrating from 10.2.0.4 to 11.2.0.3
The error is reported during INSERT-SELECT, but it may not be the only cause.

Applying patch 12813641 (which covered some ORA-14403 issues) didn't solve the behavior

CHANGES

 Migrate to 11.2.0.3

CAUSE

This behavior has been investigated under bug 13923995

REDISCOVERY INFORMATION:
Check if the user application is receiving an ORA-14403 when executing a CTAS sql (that has a MATERIALIZE hint in the SELECT part of the sql).


 

SOLUTION

Apply patch 13923995 if available for the specific platform and release/patchset level.

Bug is marked as fixed in 12c 

WORKAROUND:
avoid running DDL/parition maintenance jobs on the source table while the CTAS sql is executing.
